Garrett Allen

Garrett Allen was a visiting researcher in CIRES from November 2023 to January 2024 hosted by CIRES CI A/Prof Gianluca Demartini. His research project explored HealthBytes at Work: Gestures As An Alternative Input Modality. Garrett is a PhD candidate in the Software Technology Department, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, supervised by Dr. ir. Ujwal Gadiraju. His visit was also supported by Delft University of Technology.

Garrett is an avid learner who holds a BS and MS in Computer Science from Boise State University, USA. As a result, he is an experienced investigator with exposure to the intersections of Human-Computer Interaction, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, and Education with publications at top international conferences such as ACM RecSys and ECIR.

Before choosing the path of academia, Garrett worked as a software engineer/developer for a collection of startups.
