Since December 2023, Nardiena has been working on individual projects and assisting with PhD projects supervised by Professor Gianluca Demartini:

• Extending the Human vs Machine Learning Data Annotations on Visual Content Project to include ML-generated captions in the analysis; improving the training process of the predictive models.
• Contributing to code development for a Named Entity Recognition (NER) pipeline using a BERT-based transformer model to use with Norwegian Police documents.
• Working on a Profiling Project to identify a person’s attribute based on their questionnaire responses.

Nardiena’s research interests include exploring how humans and machine learning models differ in their perception of data. Her background in machine learning and computer vision has driven her to pursue this area in the context of visual data, i.e., images.
