Alessia Sebastiano is a visiting researcher in CIRES from July to September 2026 collaborating with CIRES CI Prof Gianluca Demartini on AI-driven fact-checking and misinformation detection using Large Language Models.

Alessia is a Computer Science MSc student at Università degli Studi di Udine, Italy specializing in Big Data. Her path so far has combined research and hands-on technical projects, from data analysis in industry to co-authoring a paper on automata theory education. She has also taken part in international summer and winter schools on quantum computing and AI ethics.
