Dr Xin Xia was a Senior Research Assistant supported by CIRES from November 2023 to March 2024 supervised by CIRES Centre Director Prof Shazia Sadiq and Prof Shane Culpepper, from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Xin investigated developing and implementing state-of-the-art explainable Large Language Models (LLMs) within the realm of recommender systems. The project aimed to improve the accuracy of recommendations but also to provide clear, understandable explanations behind each suggestion, fostering user trust and transparency. This project leverages the academic expertise of CIRES in AI and machine learning, combined with the practical industry experience and data resources of VacayHQ.
