Congratulations to CIRES Postdoctoral Research Fellow Dr Junliang Yu who has received a 2023 Outstanding Higher Degree by Research Thesis Award for his PhD thesis “Enhancing Recommender Systems with Self-Supervised Learning”. Junliang was commended by independent examiners for making a substantial contribution to this field of research. Fewer than ten percent of PhD or MPhil graduates from UQ receive this award.
